Sassin & Associates serves people with disabilities: Specifically with Cognitive, Physical and Emotional Disabilities. People served are medically stable and are capable of working in part time or full time intergrated work settings in the community. Persons served in the program decide with their DRS rehabilitation counselors' specific work related hours. The program is established in accordance to the State DVR Milestone programs and the goals are reflected in the contractual arrangements. This is reflected on the DRS rehabilitation paperwork with is adopted by the agency as a uniformed document. Sassin & Associates has a specific intake form to supplement this work.
Ages of Persons Served are 18-67
Persons served have to demonstrate the capability to seek employment in accordance to the classifications on their Milestone Program. For example: Employment and Retention clients have higher expectations of independence and responsibilities in participating in their employment program than Supported Employment clients. This is reflected in the clients responsibility form that reviewed with persons served and becomes part of the official documentation. The importance of responsibility and communication guidelines help assure that the participant has the highest degree of independence and autonomy in seeking their employment outcome.
Persons served are independent or have assistance from family/support systems in their medication management.
